Synopsis of Project
Our final piece will be a 5 min. (roughly) radio drama script and pre-production outline.
This project will be developed to the degree that it would ready for performance - should anyone feel compelled to deliver it.
Elements will include:
Outline
Our intent is to expose the absurdity of the television sitcom genre and the marketing strategies of the commercial ads that accompany these programs, through the genre of radio.
The scene opens with a car pulling up outside a house to deliver food to a couple of couch potatoes. The delivery is made, and we make our entrance into the living room, where our heroes are anxiously awaiting their supper. Our heroes are, for the most part, are engaging their favorite past-time, stopping briefly to shovel food into their mouths and utter a few token comments.
Otherwise, the sitcom and the ensuing commercials have their full - albeit limited, attention.
We feel that the delivery is a plausible segue to a scene that would begin too abruptly on its own. After the entrance is made, we can then successfully begin our illustration. The tone of this sketch is intended to be overtly satirical, as well as lighthearted.
